Ministry Opportunities PDF Print E-mail

In addition to course work, CCBC provides numerous on-going opportunities to gain practical ministry experience.

We are committed to a 3-fold learning process:

1) ACADEMIC head knowledge through study, writing and testing;

2) Head knowledge stirred down into the heart with the "spoon of faith" in a DEVOTIONAL, relational knowing of Jesus;

3) Leading to a PRACTICAL outworking in the life of the student through serving one another.  Learning to serve is an act of faith and required a "death to the independant self-life" that we grew up with.  Servant-hood is a way to crucify and renounce the flesh!

For example, we will be involved in Church Planting.  We have two fellowships that are currently growing.  See the link to the web-sites here:

Calvary Chapel North Fork (Paonia, Hotchkiss, Crawford) and Calvary Chapel Roaring Fork (Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, Aspen).

At Calvary Chapel Bible College you will be enrolling in a "Church Planting Boot Camp" of sorts where we will be learning hands on the basics of church planting.  Included in that, we spend time reaching out in evangelism trips to the surrounding rural communities.  Some opportunities change each semester.  Others are relationships in the community coffee shops, restaurants, laundry mats, stores, parks and in peoples homes that are on-going year-after-year.  Our desire is to represent Christ to every person we meet. These ministries provide many opportunities to share the love of Jesus in practical, helpful ways.

Other areas of Colorado (within reasonable driving distance) of the campus that need a Calavry Chapel are:  Rifle, Leadville, Buena Vista, Salaida, Gunnison, Crested Butte and more.  Are you called to plant a church in the High Rockies of Colorado?

Practical Christian Service

Every full-time student at CCBC enrolls in a course called M199, Practical Christian Ministry. By meeting the needs of fellow students, staff, and retreat guests, students demonstrate practical servant-hood. This course requires 8 - 10 hours of a student's time per week. Occasionally we are able to place students in areas in which they have previous experience.

Practical Christian Service (Servant-hood) is a day of improving the Campus and putting into practice what it means to be a servant. It is part of the outworking of studying the Bible all week.  In order to hold expenses at CCBC Colorado to a minimum, and in order to provide students with practical ministry/servant-hood experience, all students are asked to participate in a work-study program in which they donate and volunteer approximately eight to ten hours per week serving in the ministry.  Working in the kitchen, on the facility maintenance/construction team or in the housekeeping department helps keep tuition costs at a minimum.
